Headwaters Trails is excited to present The Adventure Paddle, a thrilling event that combines outdoor exploration, river conservation, and fundraising for a great cause. Get ready for an unforgettable experience on the stunning Shiawassee River while supporting the efforts to maintain and protect its natural beauty.

🌱 Event Details: Date:

Saturday, June 10 Location: Water Works Park, Holly, 619 S. Broad Street Distance: Approximately 7 miles from Water Works Park to Strom Park, Fenton, Michigan Duration: Expected completion time is around 3.5 hours Registration: 11:00 am – 12:00 pm

✨ What to Expect: 🚣 Scenic Beauty:

Immerse yourself in the tranquility of the Shiawassee River, surrounded by native plants such as vibrant cardinal flowers and wild rice. Keep your eyes peeled for the incredible wildlife, including smallmouth bass, beavers, and a variety of stunning birds like Yellow Warblers, Sandhill Cranes, Blue Herons, and Kingfishers.

🌲 Conservation Efforts:

By participating in The Adventure Paddle, you’re supporting Headwaters Trails, a non-profit organization dedicated to maintaining river access, clearing logs and debris, and preserving the river’s banks and habitat. Our unique approach allows us to open the river for boats while leaving the majority of wood in the water to protect the ecosystem.

🌳 Assisted Navigation:

Our dedicated team will be there to ensure your journey goes smoothly. We have friendly helpers stationed at the railroad tubes to assist you, and if desired, we have a person available to guide you around the Academy Foot Bridge. At Strom Park, we’ll have enthusiastic volunteers ready to help you disembark.

As you paddle along, celebrate with us the grand opening of the new Fish Lake Road Launch! This launch, made possible by the generous contributions from members, individual donations, and grants, is a testament to our collective commitment to preserving and expanding access to our natural trails.

* $10.00 for non-members
* Optional $5.00 fee for car transportation from Strom Park to Water
  Works Park

At 12:30 pm, we’ll launch a sweep boat to ensure everyone’s safety on the river. This event is open to all skill levels, and while the river’s twists and turns offer a bit of challenge, it promises an exhilarating experience for participants of all ages.
