Ribbon cutting is scheduled just before the Adventure Paddle.
The canoe/kayak launch at Fish Lake Road is completed and it is time to celebrate. Saturday June 10th at 9AM, we will hold a ceremonial ribbon cutting and invite those directly involved in the launch construction plus the local officials. There’s not enough space for a large gathering.
Then we’ll switch locations to the Village of Holly. At 11am registration will begin for the annual Adventure Paddle which starts at WaterWorks Park in Holly and ends at Strom Park in Fenton. All those who complete the 3 1/2 hour paddle will enjoy refreshments at the end, get their picture taken as they “ring the bell” at Fish Lake Road, and receive a commemorative button. Everyone who has helped with the river trail, now designated the Shiawassee River National Paddling Trail, is invited. The paddle is a rain or shine event, only cancelled if there is dangerous weather. Registration for the adventure paddle will be on site at Waterworks Park, Holly starting at 11AM.
