Guided Walk at Sorenson Park

June 5 @ 6:00 pm – 8:30 pm
Headwaters Trails invites the public to a guided walk at Sorenson Park in Holly on June 5th from 6 to 8:30 pm lasting into the evening when the sun is setting. The park is located at 5142 E. Holly Road and the Nature Center is the starting point toward the back of the ball fields. The walk is over even ground for about half a mile, but walking shoes, long pants and a hat are advised so that you will be able to leave the path and explore with our collaborators, Oakland County Parks CISMA (Cooperative Invasive Specias Management Area) and Holly Township Parks. See you June 5th! The event is free but donations are gladly accepted.
There is an amazing expansive view of the Shiawassee River from The Charles Stewart Harding Mott, II Overlook at the back of the park. The native blue lupine plants help to attract pollinators, especially the endangered Karner Blue Butterfly. The blue lupine is the only plant that the Karner Blue caterpillars are able to eat. The oak barrens present at Sorensen Park are a vanishing ecosystem throughout the world.
Bring your hat, long pants and join us as we explore the beauty of Sorensen Park! We’re looking forward to a beautiful evening!
